CLIENT STORIES
Stroke
She was 85 years old. Twenty years earlier a stroke had taken the use of her arm and hand. She had accepted it as permanent.
She had not met Ruth yet.
After working together she regained use of her arm and hand. Her personality transformed from anger and pain absorption into genuine delight. She is now someone Ruth chooses to spend personal time with.
Twenty years. Restored.
Structure and Function
At 25 she was told she would be in a wheelchair by 50. One foot turned significantly inward due to a leg length difference that had never been properly addressed. She wanted hike with her husband. She wanted to run.
One year of committed work later - with a precise protocol and a lift under the short leg - she was walking normally, hiking and able to run.
Her mother, who had carried guilt for decades over a medical decision made when her daughter was a child, wept with relief in Ruth’s arms.
The mother’s guilt dissolved when she understood that her decision had actually protected her daughter from a far worse outcome.
Pain
She came through the VA. She had been in pain for so long she could no longer imagine being without it. She did not want the pain eliminated - she just wanted enough relief to sleep.
Ruth told her she did not to pain reduction. She went for elimination.
She made her a deal. One treatment. Come back next week. If you can entertain the possibility of being completely pain free, we continue. If not, Ruth would help her find someone else.
She came back open to possibility.
She was pain free before her six VA visits ran out. She returned afterward on her own to pursue optimal health.
